Laurey Boone Browning is the daughter of Patrick Charles Eugene Boone, a well-known pop singer in the 1950s and 1960s, and his longtime wife, actress Shirley Boone.
Dad, the Public Persona
Pat Boone is an American singer whose song was so well received that he reached number two on The Billboard Chart, trailing only Elvis Presley.
He began his singing career by covering famous artists’ songs, such as Fats Domino’s “Ain’t That a Shame” and Little Richard’s “Tutti Frutti” and “Long Tall Sally“.

After Laurey’s superstar father (Pat Boone) transitioned to gospel and country music, he created Lamb & Lion Records, which mostly featured Pat Boone and the Pat Boone Family.

Mom, actress, and philanthropist
Shirley Boone starred in Captain Nice (1967) and Glen Campbell’s Goodtime Hour (1969). In keeping with her husband’s Christian principles, she helped start Mercy Corps, a big philanthropic organization that went global.
She met her future spouse in high school and the two fell in love. They married when he was 19 years old and just starting his career as an artist.
Shirley Boone, a mother of four daughters and Pat Boone’s wife for about 65 years, died in 2019.

In the 1970s, the Pat Boone Family traveled as gospel singers. Laurey’s singing career earned her a Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance in 1979.
She collaborated with Harry Browning to make two albums, Sweet Harmony in 1982 and Push Back The Darkness in 1984, as well as a single, Heartdoor. They were all published by Pat Boone’s Lamb & Lion Records.
