Co-parenting can be a very fulfilling experience, but it is not without problems. When parents separate or opt to share child-rearing responsibilities, the intricacies of organizing schedules, managing communication, and aligning parenting styles can put even the best-intentioned relationships to the test.
Jodie Turner-Smith, a British actress, recently spoke with Glamour for her Woman of the Year cover story. She discussed co-parenting with her ex, Joshua Jackson.

“It’s an adjustment period for anyone when they split up from someone because you’re used to being with your child all the time,” Turner-Smith told the site. “But nobody gives you a manual. “Everyone is trying to figure it out this.”
“Each parent has a separate life, and especially if the reason for your separation is because you have different lives, it’s just more complicated by how you’re going to co-parent.” The 38-year-old actress added:
Turner-Smith married Josh Jackson, a Dawson’s Creek graduate. The couple welcomed Juno Rose Diana into the world in April 2020. The pair split in October 2023.
At the time of their split, a source informed People Magazine, “She decided that she is done.” They are following completely distinct routes in life. Jodie loves being a mother. She also enjoys working.
The insider went on to state that the marriage itself became “unhealthy”. “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that left her dissatisfied. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to keep thriving.
On a recent episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the White Noise actress shared that becoming a mother is one of her “favorite thing[s].”
“Honestly, my favorite aspect of me is that I am that girl’s mother. I’m really thankful that she selected me to be her mother, and that I have that gift in life. This is my favorite thing. I mean, it’s an honor.”
Turner-Smith said, “I feel like it was our birthright to mother—whether we bring our children or not, I believe it’s a woman’s birthright. We reserve space for people around us. It has changed everything about me. It has only enriched me. It has shown me, No. 1, how powerful I am. Like, whoa! “Wow, Supreme Being!”
It’s true that “nobody hands you a [co-parenting] manual,” but Turner-Smith and Jackson appear to be making it work for the most important person in their lives, Juno Rose Diana.
