Tip 01 Add Plants
Nothing says spring like the signals of new life. In every residence I stage and style, I prefer to conclude the area with a bouquet of new plants to add a burst of fresh air. Adding plants indoors or planting them outside is my favorite way to start the spring season each year. Snake plants, spider plants, dracaenas, palms, and succulents are some of my favorite (low-maintenance) plants.
Tip 02 Don’t be afraid to rearrange
This is a small trick with a big impact. Sitting down and resting in a space you’ve just spent the morning redecorating is one of the most subtle yet wonderful experiences. The art of rearranging might be as basic as shifting out a few pieces of furniture or completely overhauling the living room.
Begin by envisioning the space rotating once to the left or right, as altering your perspective can be rejuvenating. If that strategy does not work with the floor layout, consider finding a new place for the room’s largest piece of furniture and styling around it.
Finishing the project with something modest, such as a colorful new cushion or throw, will help it feel more complete.
Tip 03 Update the Art
Rotating the art in your space every year is essential. This does not necessarily entail acquiring new artwork; sometimes it is only a matter of arranging your existing pieces differently.
Art is one of the most personal aspects of a home, yet it is often disregarded on a daily basis because it is purchased, hung, and then forgotten if not displayed thoughtfully.
Finding new photo frames, putting up a gallery wall, or placing items in different spaces may all have a significant impact on the overall atmosphere of the place. Spring means color, so consider adding one or two pieces with a bit more color than you’re used to.
Tip 04 Declutter. Seriously
Organization is the true secret to feeling rejuvenated. It can be tedious, yeah. It takes some time, definitely. However, a thorough spring cleaning can make a significant difference.
There’s no need to go full Marie Kondo in your home, but doing things room by room (or shelf by shelf) will make a significant difference. Begin by emptying a bookcase and, when you refill it, add a basket for trinkets and little items.
Make sure everything in your credenzas, shelves, baskets, and other storage areas is easily visible.
Tip 05 Cleanse your Home
Cleaning your home as the seasons change is quite essential since it allows you to set goals for the new quarter.
I use incense, sage, and essential oils to cleanse the spaces where I operate. When “smudging” with sage, be sure to open some windows and doors to let spring in while also releasing negative energy from the inside.
Concentrate on areas where individuals spend the most of their time to attract both positive and negative energy.
Sage is known to aid with asthma, air quality, and a few common allergies once the smoke has cleared, so spring is the ideal time to bring it into your house.
